Synopsis

Ali besucht den Friedhof von Halabja, im kurdischen Norden des Irak, und bleibt an einem Grabstein stehen, auf dem ein Name durchgestrichen ist. Es ist sein Grab.

Nach 21 Jahren ist Ali aus dem Iran nach Kurdistan / Irak, in seine Geburtsstadt Halabja zurückgekehrt, um seine Familie zu suchen. Fünf Familien hoffen, dass er ihr vermisstes Kind ist. So auch die Familie des Grundschullehrers und Künstlers Fakhradin, die durch den Giftgasanschlag Saddam Husseins 1988 auf Halabja fünf Kinder verloren hat. Zwei davon sind im Iran vermisst... Ist Ali der verlorene Sohn?

Synopsis

Ali visits the cemetery of Halabja, Kurdistan/Iraq, and remains silent in front of a tombstone with a scratched name upon. It is his own.

Ali returns after 21 years from Iran back to his native city Halabja, looking for his lost family. Five families hope him to be their missing child. Among them the family of the school teacher and artist Fakhradin who lost through the poison gas attack of Saddam Hussein back in 1988 five children. Two among them are missing. Is Ali their missing son?

Synopsis

Ali visite le cimetière de Halabja dans le nord kurde de l'Irak et demeure devant le nom rayé d'une pierre tombale. C'est est la sienne.

Ali rentre après 21 ans depuis l'Iran au Kurdistan/Irak dans sa ville natale de Halabja pour chercher sa famille. Cinq familles espèrent, à leur tour, retrouver en lui leur fils disparu. Parmi elles la famille de l'enseignant et artiste Fakhradin qui avait perdu par l'attaque au gaz toxique de Saddam Hussein en 1988 sur Halabja cinq enfants, dont deux sont toujours disparus en Iran... Est Ali leur fils perdu?

Piştî 21 salan Elî ji Îranê vedigere bajarê Helebçe, yê ku lê ji dayik bûye, jibo li malbata xwe bigere. Pênc malbat hêvî dikin, ku Elî zaroka wan be. Herweha malbata mamoste û hunermend Fexredîn jî, ya ku di êrîşên bombeyên kîmyawî li Helebçeyê di sala 1988-ê de pênc zarokên xwe wenda kiri bûn, di wê hêviyê de ye. Dido ji wan li Îranê wendayî ne. Gelo Elî zaroka wan a wendayî ye?
